Nuno next to each track is a little tick mark. Tunes you do not want untick and the next time you update the ipod it will go.
Another way is to create a new playlist and put the tunes you want in there. Then in the preferences click on ipod then you can select to just download this playlist to your ipod, this is handy once you have more music than space on your ipod.

I think you can only directly delete files from the Shuffle, where it shows up in the directory as a drive: option. For the other iPods you delete during the updating process, ie remove the file from the playlist in iTunes before syncronising the iPod.

Nuno - this may help
- Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes
- Select your iPod in the iTunes Source list
- Click the iPod Options button in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window
- In the iPod preferences window, select the Manually manage songs and playlists option and then click OK
- Select the iPod in the iTunes Source list
- Open the iPod's contents in iTunes
- Within iTunes, select the iPod’s song or album you wish to remove and then press the Delete key
- iTunes will display a warning to make sure you want to do this - click on OK

Mathew,
As one who has recently switched to OGG format for lossy compressed music files, I was pleased to see a phone that can play them (2Gbyte storage seems useful for this).

Nick,
If you do a search on OGG and a particular phone you should see if there is a player, the one for the P910 is free, it is also very user friendly, much better then the built in version. I use 96kbps which actually sounds fine, I'm not overly fussed about portable audio quality, I have my CDS2 waiting for me at home...
The P910 is a very nice bit of kit, more software is becoming available as well.

Matthew,
my P910i has its first birthday next week, so I'm thinking of treating it to your recommended OGG. Is it just a matter of downloading it to the PC then transfering it to the phone?

The battery life of my 6 gb mini iPod is only 10-11 hours.I´ve seen on Internet that 2nd generation of mini iPod the battery life is 18 hours! Is it my iPod first generation?
Posted on: 21 October 2005 by Nuno Baptista
I´ve just checked my iPod.It is the 2nd generation!

Phew...that was a close one. Now we just need to figure out why your battery is giving ~30% less life than Apple claim! If you lived in the US this would be grounds for a Class Action lawsuit!

Nuno the stated times are using a very specific set of circumstances.
Firstly all your music must be in AAC 128 encoding.
Secondly you must have no back light.
Thirdly you must not use any EQ settings.
All manufacturers are the same, they will all state 'best case' times.
I hear they have started a class action suit ahainst apple because nanos scratch.
Americans.

My music is not all in 128 AAC.It is in 160 KBs and 192 kbs MP3 . So should I trade it for 128 AAC?
Also ,when I connect the iPod on iTunes, the serial number is not correct.By mistake I put a 5 where should be a S!

What is the difference between MP3 encoder and AAC? Why Apple choose AAC?
Posted on: 22 October 2005 by BobPaterso
Nuno,
Don't get too worried about this battery life thing. I know a LOT of people with i-Pods & none of us get anything like Apple says is possible. You may get up to 18 hrs is a bit like saying you may win the lottery. Probability v Possibility
