The marvellous voice of Britain's Got the X Factor/Talent on Ice Susan Boyle slightly overdoing the Rolling Stones 'Wild Horses' - Good on her I say :-)

Listen Here and soon to be seen on the new series of 'America's got talent'

Go Susan

Heard it on R2 earlier, sounded fine to me, I don't know the RS version though.

Sounds good, but which voice is susan's? These producers using studio voice gimics don't fool me, much like the photo. Just let her sing 'live' with just a piano!

I tend to agree Denis

I resemble that remark Smile. Still, at least Naim found a pub that was open for business when they arranged the BBQ Winker. If they repeat the BBQ next year, bring Jet & Ewen with you.

Don't think Mick 'n the boys have much to fear.
Good choice of song for her though.

I heard it as well Dickensian...and yes she has a good voice ..but I don't see the point myself ...the original is widely available so why would anyone want to listen to a cover version that sort of misses the point of the Mick n' Keef's original version?

I think that will be answered by figures she sells from fans who probably wouldn't know the wonderful Stones version if they tripped over it. I agree it isn't a patch...........

As Jet says , yes she has a good [ish] voice. But that arrangment does nothing for that song and it ends up being just another forgetable song. It seems just a vehicle to show off her voice.

For a version that gets to the heart of the song , possible even more so than the Stones , have a listen to Melanie Safka's version .
It just oouzes feeling..........

OOOOh Melanie ....a fave of mine from my distant schooldays! ..and not just because of her voice I have to admit ...which album is her version of Wild Horses on Folkman?
Posted on: 17 September 2009 by BigH47
Ah that Melanie. It's on Madrugada.

This Melanie ? Winker

I really like the version by the Sundays:

Sundays: Wild Horses

Used to such wonderful effect in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, "The Prom". Smile

If I am honest I actually like this version more than I was expecting. Sugary for sure but a nice arrangement and delivered with much less bombast than I was expecting.

I am sure that I will change my opinion after it sits at number 1 for two months!!

I'll run for the door now!!! Eek

I think I must be the only person in the world who's successfully avoided seeing anything more than ten seconds of Ms Boyle.

Am I missing out?

Anyways, if she's going to do a Stones song, why not do something funny like 2,000 Light Years From Home?

Here's the original - I think they may possibly have taken some drugs - summer of love, and all that.

Susan's version would be better though.

The stones using drugs? Shorely shume mistake
