Kraftwerk live 2004 (don't read if you're going to see 'em)

Posted by: Kevin-W on 07 February 2004

Have just obtained a CD of the 'Werk's first gig of the 2004 tour. For those interested, here's what they did. [For those who want to be surprised, look away now]

-- Vocoder intro
-- The Man-Machine
-- Expo 2000
-- Tour de France 2003
-- Vitamin
-- Tour de France
-- Autobahn
-- The Model
-- Neon Lights
-- Sellafield vocoder intro
-- Radioactivity
-- Trans-Europe Express
-- Numbers/Computer world
-- It's More Fun to Compute/Homecomputer
-- Pocket Calculator
-- The Robots
-- Elektro Kardiogramm
-- Aero Dynamik
-- Musique Non Stop

Pretty good, apart from a shit housey version of Pocket Calc. The band apparently played laptops throughout and there are new films and graphics.
Apparently Ralf and Co. wear ties with LEDs on them...

Thanks Kevin

Is this a boot or on general release?

Cheers

Harry, it's a boot unfortunately. Pretty ropey sound quality too.

I teach indoor cycling and would really like to be able to use Kraftwerk's music. What would be really great, however, was if there were a "mixed" cd of their stuff, so that the beat would continue from song to song. Are there any recordings like this available?

Well, you could always try The Mix by Kraftwerk - one of thier absolute best albums!

All the good bits and no fillers.

Mike -

From my recent turbo trainer experiences you might want to try the Tour De France Soundtracks album from last summer. This has a fairly steady tempo.

However, I find anything with too driving a rythmn is actually counter-productive on a turbo trainer. It tends to drive me into an artificially high or low cadence. These days I train with either Lee Perry or Toots and the Maytals. They seem to work somehow...

BTW here are three snippets of tracks from the forthcoming Aero Dynamik single.

I have several bootleg mixes fitting that description - some of them go on for what seems like hours. Pretty dull to listen to, but they might be good for cycling along too.
