Chrome 250 has one channel hissing

Anyone else with this experience? I've isolated channel one of my older 250 having a very noticeable hiss. The local Naim guy picked it up yesterday and is going to check it in detail. He hinted about a new board but without any investigation. It was recapped in 1997. Any thoughts and ideas on what will be the verdict along with price? The winner gets to resurrect the U.S. Pop-quiz in the padded cell. LOL Wink

Prior to recapping, my 250 also had the same problem. After recapping, the problem went away totally.

Had noise on the left channel of my 10 year old 250. Music Line here in Germany replaced a capacitor for very little money. They also reset the bias levels etc. and the amp has been quiet ever since.

I think conjecture over the cause of any defect is a non-starter, take it to your local dealer and let him sort it out.
