I'm 40 years old and it's come to my attention I need to shake things up a bit.

I'm walking away from my job/career and will be riding my motorbike around Central America and South America starting next month.

I've enjoyed reading commentary from many of the inmates and appreciate the varied background here.

I'd love to hear your experiences if you've done such a thing. What lead you to the decision, challenges, outcomes, etc..

My formal education is in Accounting and Economics and I've been in Fortune 500 Corp arena for 16 years and need a break, diversion, something.

Well i finally got my blog up and running.

I welcome comments as I'm new to this sort of thing.

I'm going to treat this trip as an exercise to improve my writing skills (amongst other things).

Same as it ever was

Hola mi Naim amigos! Smile

I recently visited Palenque and the trip is going well thus far. I have to be in San Blas, Panama on 3 Aug to sail to Caragena, Colombia on the Stahlratte.

I miss my kit but the macbook and iTunes is a nice compromise.

You are only doing this by halves.

Forget about cruising around America, try Asia or Africa. Air fares are cheap and a foreign continent is much better than your own.

BTW i admire you for doing this whilst you are young.

Thanks Mick, I rode through India last year and have spent a fair amount of time in Vietnam, China, Japan, Phillipines, etc.

Buenos Aires is the only place I've visited in South America so it's largely untapped for me.

I'm in Medellin, Colombia now tending to bike maintenance and resting. Colombia is so beautiful.

Here's a video taken from my sailing advneture from Panama to Cartagena, Colombia.
