Sort of an upgrade type question

OK chaps

I have £500 to spend. £100 or so of that is going on getting the LP12 serviced (it hasn't been looked at for nearly 6 years). The weak link in my analogue front end is tthe cartridge (K9). I have a pair of 323 boards, so I could upgrade to a £300-£400 MC cartidge. Any suggestions for an audition?

Cheers

The number of the beast

Kevin;

The Dynavector range seems to take some beating. I use a DV 10x4 in an Ittok (around £200) which is a high output moving coil; so works into m.m. boards/Stageline.

I'm delighted with it.

(I think the garlic worked) See below.

Ditto here, I recently replaced my ageing K9 in an Ittok with a 10x4 and the improvement was remarkable, much more engaging presentation.

Dynavector have now introduced the 10x5 to replace the 10x4 - it is a bit more pricey. If you can afford more the 20X is even better.

Kevin,

There is the ortofon MC15 super which takes some beating. Its only £140 which leaves room for improvement elsewhere.

Have any of you done an A/B of the 10X5 (or 4II) vs the Adikt?

I'll second Kevin on the Ortofon MC15 super as thats what I'm using at the moment on my LP12/Ittok combo. Though if you can stretch your budget the Linn Klyde I had previously was a lot better, at least until I broke of the cantilever Frown. As soon as funds are at a healthier state I'll probably buy another.
