As you may guess a newbie -

I currently use a Flatcap 2 to power my Nait5 and CD5 adn i am planning to upgrade to Nac112, NAP 200 and a Hicap.

Can i use the Hicap to power the preamp adn CD5 or do ineed to retain the Flatcap 2.

thanks

Rather than a 112 and a HiCap, you might want to consider a NAC202, which should get the best out of the NAP200 and have greater future potential at slightly lower cost. Keep the FlatCap for the time being and add HiCaps later.

A NAPSC is a very cost effective upgrade for the 202 which powers the digital electronics separately and some say should be added before the HiCap.

Get a dealer to demo a 112 hi-capped, and then a 202 'nude' so to speak...
In your system you have several options. If you buy the hi-cap, use that to power the CD, use the flat-cap for the pre.
I would still look at the 202 (or an olive 102 if you can't afford the 202)...
I have a hi-capped 102, which used to be flat-capped. The improvement isn't small IMO.
