Which cables for DVD-A, SACD to my AV2

Posted by: Tennispro on 20 January 2010

I need cables for Analog out of my DVD player(DVD=A,SACD). The cable will have RCA's connecting Front R,L and Back R,L into a 5 pin din connected to analog 1 on the AV2. The second cable will use RCA's to connect the Sub and Center speaker through a 5 pin din to the analog 2 on the AV2. Has anyone tried the different offering from Naim and can tell me the differences between them? Has anyone found alternatives that work just as well or better? Not knowing the model number of the cables, if it has a 5 pin din and the proper number of rca's, should it do the trick? Thanks!

You'll need 2 of 4 x RCA to 5 PIN DIN cables, which are the same you'd use to connect a tape player to a normal tape input on a Naim amp. This will give you a full compliment of 7.1. You can use Naim or other manufacturers cables no problem.

Hi,

when I had a DVD5 and bought the multichannel board from Naim, not knowing that it would come with its own ICs, I ordered two cables (custom ones, DIN to DIN as described by SimonJ) from Flashback Sales, they were made and shipped quickly, were cheap and worked well. Dave at FB sales knows well about Naim connections.

Cheers,
Massimo
