Mumbai gunman gets death penalty

Mumbai attack gunman Qasab sentenced to death.

Time for another "society is judged by the way it treats it's prisoners" type debates no doubt.
One less murderer on the planet is no bad thing IMO.

The India justice system will allow a string of appeals which will take a few years. After which the sentence will be commuted to a life.

Maybe the prisoner might (will) end up wishing he chose the rope option as the jails in India don't have not much regard for issues like prisoner segregation & human rights. Whatever, I guess most of us will give him as much concern as he & his colleagues did for those they killed & wounded that day.

Even staying away form the obvious contradiction of taking lives being OK as long as it's state approved. Why an earth should this person be allowed to cop out of a lifetime's reflection on what he has done....hopefully in conditions that are less than enjoyable?

oh I'm sure he came from hell so he's used to dealing with hell and has no further insights into enlightenment or interest in a "better" world.
