Naim tuners for use in US suburbs
Posted by: bdnyc on 26 February 2001
I am in the process of considering the use of a Naim tuner now that my favorite local FM station has just added the great Vin Scelsa to it's stellar lineup. (WFUV 90.7 @ New York) I live about an hour north of NY in the hills of the burbs and currently use a roof mounted dual TV/FM antenna, which requires a booster amp for sufficient gain. If anyone with similar experience would comment, I would greatly appreciate it.
1- are there any good dual purpose TV and FM antennas that anyone is using?
2- In the FM only antennas, anyone using and getting good results w/ Channel Master or Channel Plus?
3- If most of the stations important to a listener are from one direction, how important would a rotating mount be?
4- How hard are the Ron Smith antennas to assemble?
5- If I could get someone to install a Ron Smith, do they need any particular style of mounting rod, height, rotator, etc. for best results.
Thanks for any help on the way...
