Not F1, but going back to working on these:

I've finally had enough of working on airliners and in just over 2 weeks' time will be back on the old Tornado. Bullets, bombs, reheat, ejection seats, terrain following radar, wingsweep....

Oh, and more money. I felt the weight removed from my shoulders the moment my security clearance came through.

And the Hoegarden Grand Cru just makes my smile bigger.

Nighty Night lads,

Hi Tony,

Congratulations and well done - sounds like you've found something more satisfying and also more lucrative. Not too keen on the bombs and bullets bit but I understand they're a 'necessary evil'.

What exactly is reheat anyway?

Cheers!

Rich.

Thanks, Rich.
I'm not too keen on the weaponry side either, but it does give the job an edge.
Reheat? Our cousins across the pond call it afterburn. Fuel is sprayed into the jet exhaust where it spontaneously ignites and gives a lot more power. Very thirsty but effective. And gives those lovely long flames!

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the reheat info - I knew it was a way of getting more power out, but didn't realise it was as simple as all that.

I suppose I find the weaponry attractive from a geeky/technical/fireworks point of view, but the thought of the poor young cannon-fodder onto whom it will ultimately be inflicted really makes me shudder.

Still, now you'll be able to make quips in the style of 'live bugs are on back order' when they complain about 'dead bugs on windshield' and so on (I'm sure you've seen the list of these that does the rounds every so often?)

Cheers!

Rich.
