Beatles White Al***

I've just bought a near mint 1968 copy of this for £2 - what a bargain.

Although I have no plans to sell it on at a profit I understand that the numbered versions of this masterpiece go for mucho.

£5,000 for one numbered 00001-00010!!!

Am I right in thinking there were only 10,000 numbered White Albums? And were they all sold in the UK?

If you do get hold of one where is the serial number likely to appear?

Cheers

Number will be on the front. Hundreds of thousands were numbered I think. Original expensive copies will have a poster, four photocards of the band members and be top opening rather than the records coming out of the ends as is normal for gatefold sleeves.

For more info see these sites that I had recommended to me by someone on this forum

thanks for your reply.

Rare records are a complicated old business.

I bet there have been many who have stumbled on records - with their hearts racing - thinking they have found disc worth a fortune. And when they get it home they find they have a record worth half of what they paid.

Guess the secret is not to get too het up about rarity value and just concentrate on the music.

Though it can never be denied that discovering you have a record wortth a few quid is quite exhilarating.

First pressing or not. Any prstine copy of the White Album for 2 quid is a great find.

Sit back and enjoy the music (Except Revolution No. 9 of course)
