A question of power ?

Hi all
With all the variety of different mains blocks around what do most naim users prefer or use in their system ?. Every system requires some kind of mains block so which is the best to use and do Naim recommend any particular type ? Has anyone experimented ?

Cheers Gary

i believe naim use what has become known as the hydra arrangement, essentially several iec leads from the same plug, however you arrange that. i use the grahams hydra, with all the iec cables soldered appropriately (i.e l-l, n-n, e-e) at one point, which then has a single mains lead terminated by a plug. theoretically, this does seem like a good idea as there is only ONE plug and therefore 1 fuse. also the earths of each cable is at the same point.

if you go for this, make sure your dealer uses naim power leads, and crabtree plug.

there are other arrangements that people swear by, but i have never been inclined to test them.

enjoy
