nat02 to nat01...

can anyone who has upgraded from nat02 to nat01, and has lived with both tuners, share their experience of whether this is a worthwhile upgrade or not. cant see myself doing a comparative audition somehow ... laziness or whatever...

yes, i listen to radio quite a lot when i am "working".

Hi there,
I had the pleasure of listening to the 01 and 02 side by side for about two weeks. Unfortunately, the antenna could have been better. I was amazed by the sound of both tuners- you could easily hear how cheap the CD players at the local radio stations were:mad:. The announcements inbetween sounded great, though...
Anyway, I thought both tuners sounded almost identical. But the 01 has that extra bit of dynamic and clarity. It 'just' sounds more natural and captures that elusive naim mystique that makes one go "WOW". If I switched back to the 02, I realized that everything about the music and voices was there, too, but it just did not come across that lively. I felt that the decision between 02 and 01 was a tough one. Since the 02 captures everything you need to understand the music, the extra cost for the 01 goes towards an amount of 'more fun' that is really hard to put a price tag on. As always: you need to check it out yourself.
Regards, J
