Any one else got JMLab 915 speaker's
Posted by: AL4N on 30 November 2002
I have had the above speaker's for about 12 months now and I am still having trouble getting used to them, my previous speaker's were Royd Abbot, which were a little bass light but the sound-stage and clarity were excellent.
The main problems with the JMLab's is the rather sharp treble and bass boom. System is cdx-82-hi-cap-180-naco5-black snaic, room size 15 x 15 foot. Any fellow JMLab user's out there

Hi John
At normal level's they sound fantastic, but when you crank them up they seem to sound different. I know it depends largely on the quality of recording, but the treble could almost cut you in half! The bass boom is also more evident and can spoil the music some-what.

Sounds like you've got a fairly high-spec system there. I'd go back to the JM Lab dealer for advice. I certainly have heard both Royd Abbott's and JM Lab speakers (800 series, from memory) and JM Lab are more up-front, with less soundstage.
However, they should not be unlistenable! I'd look to the speaker cable and the speaker positioning.
!!! There's always money somewhere for the next upgrade... !!!

Linds the entire system was bought from the same dealer, they could not be more helpful. One of them will be comeing around to my place on Thursday( tomorrow ) to see if there is any fine tweeking to be done. No matter what the out-come, the missus won't go back to the Abbot's, so I'll just have to wait and see,
