Elbow

I was ill the other day, so I bought a CD to cheer myself up..I bought Elbow , "asleep...." a Brits award nominee

I bought it as I thought that Stephen Bennet had recommended it! Now I am not ill I realise he recommended Henry Fool, not Elbow, simple mistake to make :-)

So, what do other folk think of it. After a couple of listens I think it's Ok. Some good ideas that sort of meander, I like it's darker presentation, but could 'go somewhere'. Just a first impression... Did the vocalist bloke sing in a band called 'Sunhouse' a few years ago?? I can't find my vinyl copy to check!!

I understand what you mean about something to cheer you up,but I'm not sure Elbow would have done the trick.I like it very much,but it's a bit on the gloomy side.

The vocalist reminds me of Peter Gabriel and the overall sound a bit like later Talk Talk albums,if somewhat less sparse.

It's interesting that you mentioned Henry Fool,because although I've only heard it once,it seemed similar to Elbow.
