Having a nice few swift halves with an old pal of mine last week from Cork, who works for most of the year in Dubei, we did actually broach the subject of Vera and what a brilliant summer drink it can be in all it's variations, t'be sure, t'be sure, innit*
Fritz von When Our Mick blindly told this forum some time afore (my memory's good as I remind yaw'l again) that cos his mate at the lodge told him that ex DPG Officer Trevor Lock wasn't armed during the SAS Siege of the Iranian Embassy he took it as Gospel. Personally I think the publicity from that incident has done more harm to the SAS than anything violent could ever do. When I saw on the er, 'media' earlier ridiculous footage (obviously sanctioned from very high up) relating to the British Police's, er, Co 19 er, (Blokes with Guns who shout and drag peole about for fun and money) I could have screamed, what on earth do the powers that be think they're fucking playing at, how bloody stupid can you really get?
Get back to work Our Andy, it's not Sunday yet*

Something that shocked me quite a lot yesterday was seeing a young lady (30 ish) getting out of a local authority minibus about 8 months pregnant. I've seen this girl on her balcony near here over the years, and she's obviously severely mentally disabled/living with her parents (probably has an mental age of 8 ish I would guess). How on earth she has been allowed to get to this stage, where the child will obviously be taken away from her I do not know? (they don't seem a hard up family) and I would imagine the chances of the child being 'similar' are high, as I say it really shocked, having seen her grow up too over the years, very switched on and attractive she is was well.
Fritz von For the record I personally have experienced a strong relationship where my partner unbeknown to me had a serious psychosis as a teenager, later trained and worked here as an SRN and theatre nurse, and when once (twice in fact) got pregnant when we were together decided on abortion, and a colleague told me why later (due to the risk of both parties. As sad as this is, I could never understand why her Mother didn't tell me, and why she was allowed to carry on nursing here even after another long illness of a similar nature (18 months in the nuthouse basically on serious hard drugs experimental) (strangely enough other nurses there too, all young and burnt out), she committed suicide at 34, maybe that's what coming from Düsseldorf does for you eh?
Many moons afore, my point being How & Why the hell did this girl get the go ahead to give birth, she's under constant care for Christ sake? makes me bloody angry to be honest*
P.S. As said on here afore too, My old Girl ran a children home in darkest Dagenham for years (40 almost) all girls, from Junkies, babys to 13 year old 3 time pregnant girls on the streets & villains (call in CO 19), and that would simply never happen (full term I mean, unless seriously underwritten by seriously serious people, know wot I mean John?)

Having started this moaning by spontaneously taking a week off next week (sanctioned by my real empoyers) then knocked back two hours later by my actual workplace through short notice, I was slightly peeved to put it mildly, but shrugged it off as you do. Literally moments ago I've just finished talking to my Mother in London shortly after writing above post in fact, who informed me that my 13 year old nephew Jay, my sisters oldest boy, has suspected menigitis, had an MRI scan earlier (see they do exist sometimes) found a tumour in the head and he's now in London's G.O.S. Hospital, so all in all it's been a terrific day, innit*
Fritz von I stick to the premise obviously of not talking private stuff on here and leaving one open to abuse, but maintain in this case that I think the boys location may well save him, innit*
Goodnight*
Probably time for the Brain Deads to wallow over Syd Barret for the next few months anyway, innit*
I didn't know John Peel was Dead?

The reason why I ask is… I have a good friend that works with people with learning difficulties. And you’d be surprised just as I was to discover what goes on in these places. Things that never make the light of day, except on an international music forum. She has witnessed abuse patient on patient, some of which was of a sexual nature, and when she brought it to the attention of the hierarchy, it was a case of, “these people have needs get used to it” and shut up. What I’m really saying here is, termination is carried out but hushed up!

I hear what you're sayin Old bean, but this girl lives at home, and even if she didn't and was taken advantage of or even had sex with another patient (mentally ill patients (severity allowing naturally) have very high labedos so I'm told, I'm not going into that but I can kinda understand the biology from Natures/God's point of view* and contraception, etc, etc are still options believe it or not
in the real world, and quite rightly so, out and our sterilization is another matter baby*
Fritz von Just had an automated mail (from guess where?) "my next mail will be read on the 19th July", please further any important stuff to IT section!! Well that's allright then* Prize Wankers³

Next weekend my local will celebrate its annual shindig. No bollocks about entry tickets, or you're not a regular, etc, etc, people bring along home made goodies for all concerned, and every drink (usually till early moaning) costs €1,50. I'll probably make a ruby as per usual, and take a CD (Hopefully the Chief leaves his bloody Dire Straights stuff at home this year though) its all self-policing. Can we imagine this in a City boozer in UK, I think not somehow, though now you're in €urope?*
Nah, No Chance, someone always has to play Boss eh Our Mick**

Dear Fritz!
Hi! So far so good - not to the boozer, but a few pimts of Lech and a very nice conversation indeed were a sort of gemtle celebration of what you post of in the quote! I said I would confirm as and when! And this with one real friend rather than a load od drinking aquaintances from work - noting your point in the old thread, whcih I consider astute, and most accurate in my experience... I have only found two solid friendships in the workplace! Otherwise there was always some other motive...
Just like I shall declare at the next election, if I am still in UK! And just as I did before. I can nail my colours to the mast alright.
I kinda like you thread title, and felt that I could start a new one one day called Hereford Dry... yes it does exist and is as ancient as the Irish sort! Naturally predateing Bulmers' Cider by a couple of centuries! But I don't want to be the first to mention English ...!
I have three day`s holiday now, so expect some less luny hours for posting! Thinking of the lunar, I have really enjoyed the full moon, these last couple of days. To a rural person it is a splendid thing. I can understand its significance in life, when I can easily see what I am doing in the middle of the night!
On a serious note, please believe my fingers are crossed for the nephew.
All the best to you from Fredrik

Dear Fritz,
It is drawable. I put it in last week.
Just as well really, as I shall have to find a fair amount this month for in-goings for a new place, and then settle the utilities here. It is not actually any more than I need, and the enforced saving casued a real problem, but I cannot complain given that I probably would have a smaller amount by me if things had worked out as they should tax-wise as I went along...
Three days off now. I am off back to bed for an hour or two, as I woke up silly early. Lots to do though.
As a matter of interest, My Private Pension earliest starting time has been put back as well, so that I must wait till sixty (thanks Mr Brown, even though I could have taken it at 55 in the original arrangement) and otherwise will have to wait till 67 for the state arrangements to hich I have reverted in terms of planning and contributions. In practice the PP is so small that it will be worth nothing in another 20 plus years time (houses are rising faster than inflation generally), that I shall merely be declaring the PP income in the means test, and so the skrimping that was involved was a total waste of time! I realised this and stopped putting any more in and went back to state contributions.
On a low income one could put every penny of disposable income in actually and still not get a breadline income off the resultant Pension Pot. In those conditions I wonder why anyone on a small income was advised to start a Plan at all. It would have required more of miracle than we have had, and we must not forget that under Mr Brown we are continually reminded that we are in the longest period of economic growth that we have ever seen. Where would the value be had we had a big down turn in the time? Mind the UK is finished for the little man, so best I simply... nuff said, as has been said before!
Rant over. I am going to enjoy a bit of peace for a few days now!
Kindest regards from Fredrik

Today's Army requires people who want to be there, not who are forced to be there. Here's one for Our Erik***
A Catholic Priest was about to finish his tour of duty, and was leaving his Mission in the jungle where he has spent years teaching the natives when he realizes that the one thing he never taught them was how to speak English. So he takes the chief for a walk in the forest. He points to a tree and says to the chief, "This is a tree."The chief looks at the tree and grunts, "Tree." The Priest pleased with the response. They walk a little farther and he
points to a rock and says, "This is a rock."
Hearing this, the chief looks and grunts, "Rock."
The Priest was really getting enthusiastic about the results when he hears a rustling in the bushes. As they peek over the top, he sees a couple of natives in the midst of
heavy sexual activity. The Priest is really flustered and quickly responds, "Man riding a bike." The chief looks at the couple briefly, pulls out his blowgun and kills them. The Priest goes ballistic and yells at the chief that he has spent years teaching the tribe how to be civilized and kind to each other, so how
could he kill these people in cold blood that way?
The chief replied, "My bike."
