I haven't seen the news today, but I do know Israel has bombed a runway in Lebanon. Is it possible that those kidnapped soldiers may be whisked to Iran as bargaining chips?

Unfortunately Beano Old Chap it seems rather more serious than that, though I suspect certain Israeli individuals will be happy that the world is watching them once again (I've been accused of being an attention seeking Tourettes merchant on here many a time ( (hopefully Our Mick doesn't know any folk who suffer from it, cos I didn't ask his persmission first now that he's giving us his valuable time again)but in this case I feel it's almost a Nationwide ailment (most of the population anyway).

Agreed. The smell of the US in all this has reached stench like proportions.

It always seemed a little odd to me that Israel should react with such a show of force over the kidnapping of one soldier - I can scarcely believe, however, that the US is behind it all, but then again stranger things have happened. I despair though, that Olmert has blown away any sense of goodwill that might have been engendered with the Palestinians when Sharon pulled out of Gaza.

I also find it strange that the massive Israeli operation to recover one soldier has led to the killing of at least 8 more (so I heard this morning) and the kidnapping of two others by Hezbollah

It hasn't taken much but suddenly the middle east is on the precipiece of all out war - as a Jew I despair of what my supposed spiritual homeland is doing - even more so than usual.

Incredibly intensive day at school yesterday, 7 hours straight (30 min break). On Thursday evening I spoke to my (other boss) who gave me the details, and amusingly (only to me) the lecturer's name Frau Moron (It's true honest) sounds French Dunnit?
Well! After a terrible night's non-sleep due to the intense heat, I rolled across town to an area I haven't seen in over 20 years (the Wall was still up then) (Remember the Wall? Those Easty Beasties deliberatley put it up to inspire Pink Floyd to make a fortune).
To cut a long story long, I rolled into what I thought would be an "Eyes down Fritz and get on with it and out Jobbie) into an unbelievably well kitted out full- on College situ with all the latest trimmings (Only 19" flatscreens here Chaps and loads of the buggers) (Too big for my rucksack, Wot?)(Might have to send the Chief down to investigate later tonight, I ain't sayin nuffink).

Ended up having a one on one all day with a young (25 ish) absolutely intense and beautiful young Lady who initially (I must admit) took me awhile to dicipline myself & not ogle (I just couldn't believe it was just the two of us- 5 weeks on) (song or what?). After we'd introduced ourselves it was straight down to business (German Grammer Pure, New Rules etc They put capital letters in the middle of sentences etc, it drives one nuts, and that's just the start) and after she'd seen my CV and the low standard of my written German (Dictation (first time ever) 'write yer bastard, then I'll check it, Red dots all over the bloody page so there was') (Lucky it wasn't Ingrish innit !!!)

She really put me through my paces I can tell you, and I was seriously glad when she said I could leave (I knew she that was knackered too, she just didn't stop, she was quite brilliant in fact) but not to forget the homework for next Friday. I'm well aware this is quite a fortunate situation on my part (just imagine the private cost?) (learning-wise, even though she's an absolute cracker³ I'm not into anything under 35 (27) to be honest, and she's an excellent teacher which is more to the point)
and besides that there are no other distractions (Imagine 'All of You! Even Our Mick' Having to go to full on English Lan Lessons again (I don't mean silly work related courses & long lunches (been there done it a thousand times), I mean full on as in school as a teenager, and you concentrtate 100% or God help you).

Lots of homework (which I'll look at tomorrow) last night was pretty heavy due to this and that, Phew.

Fritz Von Thank you Fredders etc, but as I said I unfortunately simply have to wait for news (good or bad) it's the price one pays for being a Free man with no ties (including Family) which as Our Erik & Lance Jack Partly-Manly may possibly know is a pre-requisite to being this and that, innit*

Without wishing to state the bleedin obvious, but when one considers that the Bloody Sunday investigation is still rolling on (with those still living that is! including three Judges down the road) at a cost to the British taxpayer to-date being an estimated £700 Million (Yes you did read correctly) it seems pretty certain that a Country will protect the integrity and moral of its armed servants at all costs (in peactime), dunnit.

Tomorrow; as has already been widely er, leaked/reported the findings of the IPCC's so-called independent inquiry into the Stockwell 'fuck up' accident, whatever one wishes to call it! will almost certainly result in no individuals being charged with murder/Manslaughter, unlawfull killing etc, etc (joint resposibility). These inquiries are simply a total waste of time and money (Hutton etc, included) and should be stopped forthwith in my opinion.
