Sbl`s and set up

Posted by: Big Ears on 18 April 2002

Hi all
recieved my Sbl`s on tuesday but unfortunately the instructions were not in the box so i can`t set them up properly but i have just ordered the gasket kit to seal them.
I have ordered a set of instructions from naim so they should arrive soon. Does anyone have any advice regarding the positioning to the wall and on toe in etc.
Regards Gary

That will give you a fair idea I think.

I like them hard up against the wall with a small amount of 'toe in' but it's a personal taste thing, really.

Experiment with positioning; THEN rebuild, seal and leave 'em be.

Trouble with that JN is that you can't get even the slightest idea of how they will sound without the seal in.

I guess if you are in the position with SBLs already set up then experiement, then take apart then rebuild.

Perhaps I should make that clearer.

and you were talking about re-sealing them.

You're only going to find out where they sound right to you in your room, by trial and error.

I have no faith whatever in mathematical formulae, computer programs etc: to come up with the answer.

You, and your room are far too complicated!
