CDS Interference?
Posted by: Anders on 28 October 2002
Hi,
There is common knowledge that power supplies should be placed as far away as possible from sources and preamplifiers due to their electromagnetic interference.
I have heard some people say that CD-players also generate some sort of "electrical fields "(electromagnetical?) produced by its digital circuits.
According to these people, the "CD fields" have a negative, and clearly audible, impact on other electronics, particularly low level electronics such as preamplifiers.
Is this true? If so (and given that many people tend to place CD and preamplifier on the same rack), how far away should one position the CD from the preamplifier to be sure to avoid this interference?
Any views?
