My favourite film of all time this week.

Live At Derby Werehouse

Long Days Journey into Night with Kate Hepburn. They cut the stage play short but did a good job at it. But when Kate smashes the dishes at dinner, it's a shocker, as they're not saying anything about the elephant in the room, her addiction.

Another Kate fav is The African Queen with Bogey. What a sharp one she was. Loads of character.

I just heard from my cousin that both her girls won't watch anything in B&W. What a shame.

I saw "Mon Oncle" by Jacques Tati again recently. This time I switched the subtitles on for hard of hearing. Very nice how it draws your attention to all kinds of things you didn't notice before.

So there, if you want to learn to watch a Tati movie, switch on those subtitles for hard of hearing.

The one on the right of the central trio looks like I imagine Gordon Brown must have looked in younger days! Do we in the UK have to start worrying? He is a very long serving Chancellor of the Exchequer [finance minister}, who seems to have a total grip on the situation, and in reality his boss our Prime Minister, Tony Blair, as well...

Yikes, duck for for cover from Fredrik

Fredrik and Gianluigi,

The one the right of the central trio is Fasstow, the CFO of Enron who became a witness for the prosecussion, after agreeing to a sentence of 10 years. His wife served already her sentence of 18 months for her part. The deal was that she will serve first and him later so one parent could remain free to tend their youg children. How endearing.
