KAN-1's on Sound-Factory stands
Posted by: Alco on 09 May 2002
Hi lads,
I was just planning on going to bed,but before going to dreamland I wanted to share the following:
Tomorrow I (probably) will visit the most flat-earth kinda Naim dealer in Holland again.
(Bas V knows who I'm talking about:D )
I've been trying different setup locations for my current Sonus Faber 'concertino's,tried different cables, make the reflexport narrower to eliminate some of that boomy bass, etc, etc
It just doesn't make music the way I want/it should! Especially with my Nait-2 my face goes
Now, I know,I know....I should've kept my previous Linn Kan-II's, but I passed the point of no return. I've already placed an ad for the SF's.
As some of ya may've noticed on a previous thread,
I also tried some AudioNote AX-two loudspeakers. These are very open, musical, high efficient speakers, but I found 'em too big and ugly.
The Naim dealer I'll visit tomorrow still has one (demo!) pair of Kan-1's.
He also has some Sound-Factory open frame stands for about 100,- UKP a pair. (24")
Should I go for this combo ?
The Sound-Factory stands are quite similar to the Kan stands (thoug the Kan stands look better, imho)
Would there be a big difference between a Kan-1 on sound-factory stands compared to a Kan-II on Kan-II stands ?
(I also still have some Target TR60,twin pillar stands, in my closet )
btw: I Also saw a s/h LP12/valhalla/trampolin/Ekos in mint condition, for sale in my own town(!) but the owner asked 2350,- euro (1463,- UKP) for it!
(isn't that a little too much, ...compared to the giveaway prices I see on Ebay.co.uk)
well, see Y'all
Greetings,
Alco
