New 250 a revelation

Lured by the promise of Jonas post last month, I baby sat the new model over Xmas and agree totally with his impressions, particularly straight out of the box from stone cold.
It EATS the old 250 by a huge margin mainly in the scale and depth dept with big, wafty but beautifully controlled bass that goes far deeper than the previous iconic version, and as a perfect stablemate to the CDS3 that was really being held back by the old machine on more involved material.
And, as always, its getting better, bigger, wider and losing its original forward behaviour and becoming more consistent in its delivery across the board.
Take it from me, it is a fantastic way of breathing new life into olive boxes without spending an arm and a leg and would do much the same for a CDS2 or CDX front end.
The king is dead it would seem. Naim really have done an amazing job translating the inherent quality of the 3 and 500 into the lesser, classic 250 that moves this amp well into the serious category.
I have no doubt that old 250 owners will find the improvement pretty startling.
Just get one home. You wont want to give it back.
