N-vi trade in

If I trade in my CDX2, NAC 102, NAP 180, NAPSC and HICAP, for the new N-vi, will it sound nearly as good or not even close ?

My guess is nowhere near- if i remember correctly the n-Vi is more comparable to a CD5i in terms of playback.

You CDX2 is certainly in another league.

Why not borrow an nVi from you local dealer and find out - it's the only way you will really know.

Why not keep the CDX2 and just trade the amp/pre/psu for N-vi?

Why waste the dealer's time ?

The n-VI is no doubt an excellent product but it's clearly a multi purpose item intended for those who prefer a single box AV solution, rather than optimal audio performance.

The CDX2 alone costs the same as the n-Vi & whilst price isn't the sole determinant, it gives a fair indication.

If I were downsizing into a small space I would consider it, but I was on the video forum and there seem to be problems with the programing on it. So I'd wait to get the kinks out.

You'll get a lot more enjoyment out of your current setup I believe.

Stille, what's your lokation?

Hello Rackkit, all
Thank you all for good feedback. Keeping my CDX2 and just trade in my amp system for the N-vi sounds very interesting. That way I would still have the superb CDX2 digital CD source, and hopefully I get a comparable amp performance (true?), as well as a dvd-video player all replacing five other boxes. There is a price tag to this though, which will be interesting to dig into ;-)

You might also consider keeping hold of the NAP180 - the extra weight and control to the front speakers would be well worth while. Besides with a CDX2, you will want a reasonable amp to make music.
