Cookin'

Posted by: ErikL on 03 November 2003

I recently ordered a "Best of Cookin'" CD- Amazon recommended it since I like some of Guru's and Madlib's jazzy comps. It hasn't arrived yet.

What/who is Cookin'?

There's also Home Cookin', Mo Cookin', Still Cookin', and What's Cookin'.

I just looked it up- apparently it's on the Ubiquity label.

Okay, so I know the label but I'm still clueless re: Cookin'.

Cookin' is the offshot of the good looking label.

Cookin' kind of deals with soulful Drum & Bass.

The good looking label is excellent and is owned by LTJ Bukem, the better artists on there being Big BUd, PFM and Nookie.

Of course it could be a toatlly different Cookin', in which case I don't have a clue!

I am probably being far too simple and mis-understanding your question.
The word "cookin" was coined as a descriptive term for hot jazz as in "now we're cookin".
That's why when you go to Amazon and search on cookin you get a selection of recording artists associated with hot or upbeat jazz.

Okay, I'll assume this album is redone cookin' hot jazz cuts. I know, I should've asked before I bought it.
