the holes in the QS Ref

how big are they and do they present a problem with full and half width Naim kit.
Certainly my headline would fall through and possibly Lingo when i get it.
Has anyone used a QS Ref with 4 shelves with holes and one solid shelf and noticed any sound degradation..i didn't know if to get best performance all shelves have to have "holes"

I have a Quadraspire Q4 reference & a standard table, the width of the holes in the reference are 36cm wide x 20cm deep. The reference is ideal for a CD player/pre-amp/supercap/power amp combination. I would not suggest including a solid shelf on the reference as this would then defeat the object of the table (the shelves are decoupled to encourage simple energy paths). You may get away with the half width Naim kit, my Lingo Mk1 sits on the standard shelf but it should be OK on the reference. The reference is certainly a lot better than the standard (at a cost!) I would just use the reference for the more expensive kit.

Tony,
now that's not very environmentally friendly is it?
You could see them as picture frames. bog seats, gurning frames, jumps in a obstacle course from small dogs, sehelves for deep but not very high books.
All sorts of wonderful things.
However, they don't work with a Quad FM4 - it would fall theough the hole. Fine with Naim & Linn gear though.

its not an issue - Quadraspire will cut the holes to suit if you ask them.
