PROMO CD's

Chaps
There are several Sarah Brightman Promo CD's on Ebay with a relatively high price tag.
I have most of these Cd's but just what is the difference being a normal CD and a Promo one.
Are they worth buying etc.
Regards
Mick

Mick,
Promo CDs are usually exactly the same as the standard version, except that the cover will be different (normally a no-frills version that says PROMO COPY - NOT FOR RESALE). They are handed to critics before the offical release date.
Some people seem to consider these collector's items, hence the price tag.

The reason why these promo copies fetch high prices is there's less of 'em than the ordinary commercial release. There's a sort of secret handshake feel to these items.
It took a while before I realized the bad-paper paperbacks I get sent all the time (officially called Advanced Reading Copies or Bound Galleys) for reviewing purposes often fetch amazing prices on the USA market, in case the book happens to become a runaway bestseller - they are the first of the first after all. Every time I go to the US I take five or ten of those, and these go a long way toward paying my hotel bill, frankly.
So maybe you should start a sideline in reviewing Sarah Brightman and her ilk, Mick? I tell you, you've got the prose style for sure.
