Does anyone have any recommendations for decent MP3 downlaod sites? All the legal ones of course. Or does one have to use itunes.
FWIW, I dont have an ipod but rather an iriver.
Thanks

What's left of the Half Man, Half Biscuit Audio site is here. There would be lots more if eBay wasn't responsible for allowing people to sell bootlegs that exploited the memory of the great John Peel. It is a bit rough and ready and some of the albums sound more polished, but almost anything by Nigel B and the boys is fine by me.
A superb album of MP3s from the Misunderstood is here
And the complete output of the Desperate Bicycles is here
The Naim music site has lots of mp3 samples too.

If you are willing to subscribe the try www.emusic.com
You keep the music no matter how long (or not) you subscribe for and its all high bit rate recordings, and its burnable too.

I think itunes is pretty good, whatever you play your tunes through.
And at 79p a track and charged to your phone bill, it couldnt be easier.
Still a bit limited in choice, but worth a look.

Thinking about it, I heard that itunes will not work for South Africa (where I live).
So there is no other general comprehensive site like itunes?

You're right I've just launched iTunes and tried to access the South African shop, but it is not there. No announcement from Apple when it will be either.
