Farewell Molar
Posted by: Deane F on 01 December 2005
Well, thankfully my rearmost molar chose the morning of a business day to split right in half from crown to root; so I could get an appointment with my dentist on the same day. It was already dead and structurally weak from a root canal so all I heard was the crack. The dentist, bless him, took it out in six pieces and only needed to put in three stitches to finish the job. He was sweating by the time he finished (or does a dentist perspire...)
I was good with everything up until the time he started stitching. It is a most unnatural experience to see a needle and thread coming out of one's mouth. All the more so when the thread starts out white and ends up pink.
A bargain at $170 NZD.
