CDX sounds GREAT with Nait-2/Kans

Posted by: Alco on 21 September 2001

Howdy folks,

Well, after 5 hours of owning and 2,5 hours of listening to my new CDX I can honestly say:
"It sounds GREAT!"

I couldn't even imagine that the improvements over my previous CD-3.5 + f/c would be that big.

The CD-3.5 sounds like a CD-player. A pretty good CD-player,but still ....

The CDX is in a whole other leaque. (and it should be,considering the price!)
To me it has some strengths that remind me of some good analoque replay.

The whole setup may seem a little unbalanced by some people (mostly round-earth blokes) but to me it sounds awesome!

So, I hope this CDX injection will cure me from upgraditus for a while... big grin

Greetings, Y'all

Alco

It feels good, doesn't it? big grin Now it's time to "rediscover your record collection", as we like to say for these occasions. Happy listening!

Congratulations, Alco!

Now we expect detailed reports as to the CDX's unfussiness of support.

In the mean time, enjoy the music.

Do it at your own risk, as the repercussions can be rather costly. wink

Great stuff Alco! Good to hear that your Kans are getting the source they deserve.

Tell me, have you found the same effect as me? That the CDX adds an extra octave of the bass from the Kans...

Thanx you all,

After 7 hours of no connection I'm finally back on the internet.

to Andrew: No, I can't say that is had the same effect on me,regarding the extra octave of bass.
Till now,the most obvious improvements are the transparency, detail and involvement in the music.

I must admit that I was afraid that some PC burned CDR recordigns would sound rather bad, because of the quality of the CDX,but...
the few ones that I listened to this morning sounded pretty fine to me!
Also on low listening levels the music sounds so natural and with ease.

I think the keyword after adding the CDX in my little system is:Music

I do wanna try another system support in the near future though. (wich also has to look good)

but for now,I can finally sit back and enjoy the music 100%

See ya guys,

Greetings,
Alco smile

I went round to a guy to sell him my CD3, he had horn speakers and a bloody great rel sub, anyhoo after plugging the CD3 in he turned off the sub because of the amount of extra bass info coming through.

Also at the same time I got my CDI and again the bass is a lot lower. I think this actually equates as better bass reach, but the control!
(Or colouration?)

I hope this is what Alco is experiencing, and if not he will in the next few days, good work fella!

Thanx,Garyi

I must say that, when listening to my new CDX, the basslines are delivered with more punch and better defined, compared to my previous CD3.5

btw: the unit is hardly 2,5 months old,so it's actually more new then s/h.

Could it be that my CDX would even improve further, the first days/weeks from now ?

well, see ya' fellas.

greetings,
Alco
