Ebay problems with iMAC

Posted by: BigH47 on 25 March 2009

Just to see if anyone else has had this problem, while E-Bay condescend to reply to my e-mails.

I recently put some items on sale, when I came to revise them I was not able to access them. I was offered another login page, an HTTPS one.
It seemed to accept my P/W but just refreshed and offered another attempt at the log on page.

I used the wife's laptop (MS Vista) and it works as normal when revising an item, it does not try to go a HTTPS page.

PLEASE NO LECTURES on the down sides of E-Bay , if you want to slag it off, start your own thread.

I've not had any problems like this Biggy.
I log on to .co.uk which does use HTTPS.
Did you list your items on .com?
If you look at the uk home page there is an 020 "customer support" 'phone number.

Hi 555 I use and have always used .co.uk, HTTP for normal use/viewing etc , but tries to go to HTTPS for sell/revise. It would seem that one part has my details but the secure site is resisting. Checking again the Vista machine does not go to another log on screen when I revise.

I'll look for the CS ? number.

I couldn't see a CS number BTW.

The CS number is top right on the home page.
I didn't post it as the last time I did this with a 'phone number it was zapped,
but on the off chance Adam's having a nap it's 020 8080 2105.

Howard,
which browser are you using? E-Bay used to be quite buggy with previous versions of Safari but has been quite stable for a while now. Sometimes, there can be compatibility issues with the Mac OS as most developers produce for PC systems.

Perhaps you just need to allow cookies?

I had some cookies stored on Firefox. I killed them and it's working fine now.

Thanks 555 I couldn't see that anywhere.

I wonder why eBay don't make the CS 'phone number more prominent? Big Grin
