So I want my own nuclear bomb.

Because nuclear bombs don't kill people; people kill people.

Deane,
yesterday I raised this very question with the Governor for the State of California and his answer was Skynet.

Nuff said.

Not nuff said for me, I'm afraid. Did he refer to the courier firm, or perhaps Reagan's Star Wars programme?

Boy am I slow. The penny has just dropped. Big Grin

I assume that Cyberdyne Systems Corp was a major campaign fund contributor for The Governator...

well, yes but: with a gun a certain factor of luck is required... a bad decision up front (or bad handling)... and most of all, more than 'pointed in the general direction, the gun must be correctly aimed and operated.

a nuclear bomb (go Grace Jones!) OTOH, will take out anything in the surrounding n-to-the-power-of-big-explosion area.

it's difficult to disguise the nuke in a box of roses, too.

Just think, Deano

If the Jews had had plenty of these on hand, those Nazi creeps would have thought twice about kicking in their doors..

If the Jews had plenty of Airsoft guns the Nazis would have left the Jews alone? I think not.

al Qaeda will find your crass comment supportive of their actions.

You are in danger of being moderated if you do not consider your posts more carefully.

I have been called a troll, twice, by the same poster. Are personal insults considered ok, and comments favoring the Jews over the Nazi's not ?

My comments were not meant to offend. only to make a commentary on gun ownership. Which can be seen from more than one side.

People with guns kill people: often accidentally, sometimes by mistake, sometimes deliberately.

The incidence of civilian death by gunshot increases as unlicensed gun ownership increases.

Oh dear, another nutter has joined our little community to extol the wonders of firearms [viz also the nauseating guns, god and guts crap]. Probably as compensation for small penis size, though.

Well....well....well.

Graham,

I get the sense that deep down, your really a good guy. See, here in the US, we beleive in personal freedoms.

We are not ancient Rome bent on enslaving the world. Or those other Germans, you know the ones G.

George Bush is not Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin or Genges Kahn (exscuse the spelling, I'm an ignorant guy)

So we don't have to get all hot and bothered.

Frankly guys, it really is not worth the pursuit, all this.

Your Endearing Nutter,

Larry

Like access to abortion, or internet gambling? Too broad a statement I'm afraid, and the freedom to be surrounded by armed people is one I'd happily do without.

You addressed me personally, Larry, and could not even find the courtesy to use my proper name. I cannot really be bothered to say much more.

we have plenty of firearms for all down here - they're principally used for sporting purposes; hunting, pest control etc. we have an excellent set of firearms control laws that are particularly sucessful - apart from the odd exception. As such, I don't have any issue in a country such as this one with firearms posession - the difference is, it's not a right - it's a privilege, effectively controlled by licensing the owner, and well enforced laws.

Guys - don't feed the troll! ignore and he'll shrivel.

You're right. Guns do not kill people. People kill people.

If I was combat trained I could kill you with my bare hands. A gun only speeds up the process. Still the same process though.

It's not much of an 'anti-gun' argument having a go at guns themselves (if that's what you're doing).

There's a big difference between using a gun to have fun shooting cans off a fence and using same to rob a store and blow people away.
The difference? The level of stupidity in the person behind the gun.

What's killed more people in the USA than guns? Abortion.
What kills more people in NZ every year than guns ever did? Cars.

Should we get rid of cars because they people?

Not really. I have no particular problem with guns. It's the simplistic, sloganised approach to issues that is passed off as 'thought' that really pisses me off.

This website is a pretty strange way of illustrating the point, but it gets there.

He has had a webcam pointing at a Pistol and a knife since June 1st and in that time, neither item has caused any injury.
