Probably, but all the dire predictions... Who's car wouldn't start on 1/1/00? Anyone's furnace not warm their home that morning? Microwave cease functioning? TV switch from your show to Teletubbies?

OK, which of these devices got new software as a result of all the Y2K work?
None of them.
Now, financial institutions, manufacturing plants, many other businesses needed to take preventative measures for all that and they must have done it well (and at great expense!). I know we spent a truckload of money on this. And we had no problems.
Until daylight savings time changes!
I had a professor of electrical engineering talk about this issue back in the late '70s and early '80s... Should have taken that lesson to heart and formed a Y2K company!
