Taking it outside

The configuration of my new listening room/mains setup has meant the almost perfect positioning of my 1.8/IIs on either side of a deep chimney breast and on a solid concrete floor (great sound), with the slight problem that there's nowhere for the right channel speaker cable to run - apart from in front of the fireplace (domestically unacceptable).

My solution is to drill 2 holes through the 1 foot deep outside wall, behind the NAP250 and the right speaker, and run the NACA5 outside the house covered by a UPVC channel. That side of the house is shielded from the sun (and most other elements) by dint of being close-up to the next house, and north-facing.

Should this present any problems (assuming all holes are blocked off to the inside)?

I'm no expert but I would have thought that due to temperature differences, particularly during the winter months, you'd hear a difference in sound between left and right.

If I were you, I'd drill holes for both sets of speaker cables, run the cable to your left speaker as you plan, but also run the right speaker cable half way along the same UPVC channelling and double back to the right one, so both cables would be subject to the same temperatures......

Does that make any sense?

Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......

I raise the question of hiring an angle grinder (I think that what it is called) and cutting a channel in the concrete floor in front of our fire place the depth (c.15mm) and width (c.6mm) of NACA5 but the other half thought this might be of a bit messy option.
