worst case scenario

What if I have to let my Arcs go? - any advice on alternatives, bearing in mind I like the Arcs, have a small room and not much money (in fact I'd only be able to use what I recouped from the sale of the Arcs Frown) - are the starters still available?
I could fit standmounts in, but on tallish stands (to clear close proximity furniture).
No huge amounts of bass resonance please....
any advice - thanks again all.

You must try Mana before you part with the Arcs. I hate Mana, sore knees, nerdy, awful stuff - but it don't half work OK. I would bet on it making the difference. If its the floor, you may have a similar problem whatever you get.

Rasher tells the truth. My wooden floor used to resonate so badly that it made my feet tingle, and I have only got Kans. A pair of soundbases has resulted in better focussed baselines, and the weird foot tingling thing has gone.

OK - I'll try a few things, I think could end up getting neurotic about this - hang on a minute I already am!

seriously I'll try what's suggested, as apart from anything else I'm broke and can't afford new speakers1

All advice is appreciated very heartily - thanks Smile

Havent had time to read all this thread but if you are interested in a pair of Starters, a friend of mine has a virtually unused pair he has to sell (wife took one look and that was that....) she thinks they are already sold but he couldnt do it so hid them. He has finally given up the idea of keeping them so let me know if you might be interested....
