James Blunt "back to bedlam"

Posted by: graham55 on 02 June 2005

I bought this CD on impulse today because (a) I liked the grey/darker grey cover and (b) it had high praise indeed on a little sticker of excerpts from reviews in Q, Time Out and (London) Evening Standard.

Am now playing it through for the second time and I think that it may turn into a rather special record. Mainly voice plus guitar or keyboard with subtle reinforcement. A Cat Stevens for the Noughties maybe?

Any other views from people here?

My wife bought the CD a while back, roughly when it came out (on the strength of hearing one song). She made me download it onto the 'ippod' and at first I wasn't so taken with it, but it finally won me over. Subsequently, I have seen him live in Edinburgh and it was a terrific gig. Much recommended.
