Latest album called Every Day. Only had it a little while but I can't get the thing out of the CD player..every time I try my finger hits the play button
Anyone know their two earlier albums well enough to comment?

Absolutely not.
It's post-dance chill/electronica/DJ stuff with a large Jazz rhyph/sample influence. Embodies the Neu style rhythmic 'challenges' with the post-be-bop 'cool' (in both senses)hooks into enough comfortable history to have an almost calming influenece whilst yet stimulating. <ducks to avoid denials>
Hope that's cleared that up!
Jonathan
PS And they're good live as well!

Listen to Nick. He's quite stable really...despite what people say about him
Get Cin' Orch' like your very life depends on it.
Otherwise I may have to kill you
FWIW Dept...never thought it was Sabbath! Not that bluudy stupid...
Thought it was Lizzy actually.

I think I must have caught the "hump" off Redeye because now I've got it! Must be some sort of condition acquired from the forum. Maybe related to GNOG (officially known as the Grumpy Naim Owners Group), which pops it's head up every now and then. Usually post Naim purchase when widescreen TV's go on sale.
BTW Cin Orch weazled it's way in front of Gomez tonight

hmmm,
I've listened to Every Day 3 times now, and I have to admit to being more than a little bit disappointed after all the good reviews.

I've had a few listens now and while it seems decent enough I haven't been overwhelmed. For example something I think is along the same lines - Jimi Tenors, Out of Nowhere - I still find far superior.
You are not alone!

Barry,
Glad I'm not the only one - maybe it will grow on me. The Jimi Tenor looks interesting - maybe one to get once I've listened to all the other CDs I've bought recently.

Nick,
Please join us when you give me the 2 Coltrane CDs back saying that you still don't get it.

I definitely think that Jimi Tenor album is great, highly recommended. One thing to look out for is to make sure its the "Out of Nowhere" album you get. I've a couple of his other ones and they're not much cop. The out of nowhere album was recorded with some Polish orchestra, no less.
I haven't given up on the Cinematic Orchestra, I'll keep at it. It's just that when you've a few albums to listen to after getting your new FC2 an album has to grab you straight away! Obviously I haven't been taking my Ritalin and my attention span has....oh quick a thread about shooting burglars must go there......

Barry,
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely investigate further when my bank balance recovers. I also haven't given up on Cinematic Orchestra. From my first few listenings it just sounded OK, which was a bit of a disappointment after all the glowing reviews. There's quite a range of styles and sounds on the songs - to my ears it just doesn't quite hang together. Maybe I'll change my mind on a few more listens.
