Naim 135. Driving DMS Isobariks

Further to my earlier question, would buying a 135 solve my problem. " Better Bass, Meridian 205 mono blocs". Ray.

even though I don't know what your original question was, I can state that 135s and Isobariks are a superb combination -- especially if you like deep, controlled bass. The Isobariks have to be carefully set up: good stands and surface.

Martin Payne also mentioned the possibility of driving DMSs (86-89 vintage, I think) using two passive 250s. These DMSs had two identical crossovers -- one for the three front-facing drivers, one for the the two upward-firing and internal bass drivers. This creates a much easier load for the 250s. Do a search for the topic 'PMS 'briks and crossovers'

Cheers,

Tim

PMS and DMS

whats the difference?

PMS - professional monitor system (active)
DMS - domestic monitor system (passive, which is what you need for your 135's)

best bariks are, i believe beyond 1985 or so vintage. see tony lonorgans website for series numbers etc.. cant remember the address, but may be on tony's profile.

else do a search big grin big grin big grin

enjoy
