Most favouritest song ever!
Posted by: hungryhalibut on 15 June 2010
If I were ever pushed to name my favourite song ever; the one that I love more than ever every time I hear it, the one that makes me sing along, the one that sends a shiver down my spine, it would have to be 'Levi Stubbs' Tears' by Billy Bragg.
What's your very favouritest?

Today it's 'Touch me'.
The Doors.
Asong I'd entirely neglected for too long.

Almost impossible but Walk on The Wild Side by Lou Reed could be the one.

I have way too many favorites to pick just one, but surely among the ones I'd choose from would be If I Fell.
Also one of my favorites to play on the piano ... fantastic melody and chords, like all the greatest standards.

An easy one for me - "Steppin' Out" by Joe Jackson.

Agreed - any version of this song is wonderful - I still like the original the best when Sandy first recorded it with her backing band the Strawbs (who also went on to great things); her version on Unhalfbricking is also superb. Kate Rusby and Mary Black both did decent covers too. Here's a demo that the Fairport Convention did.quote:Originally posted by madasafish:

Mmmm, Probably would pick
John Martyn 'Rock Salt and Nails'
or
Van Morrison 'All in the Game' from live in Belfast.

This is another one of my favorites, the greatest Acid House record ever made, featuring Pope John Paul II
