SME arm on a rega table?

I havent seen anyone do that before. Is there a particular reason for it?

...possibly because SMEs are designed more with suspended decks in mind.
Still, Paul Messenger is using an RB1000 on his LP12, so maybe I'm talking bollocks.

Fisrt of all, the mounting of SME arm is very different from other arms, so the Rega deck needs to go through some un-reversable changes to the main plinth.
My experience with SME is that they perform much better on suspended decks. Don't know why, but high chance that Regas do not like SMEs.
Most important of all (IMHO), cartridge and arm matching is very very important.
