Calling all DG fans which obviously precludes old misery guts McCluckie. Do you know the name of his latest CD. I know his DVD "Remember that Night" is soaring up the charts, but is there a CD.

Hi Mick
I think his latest CD which has been around for a while is "On An Island". And very good it is too!

Jim is correct Mick. Not sure if you are a fan of DVD, but he has recently released an excellent set of his Royal Albert Hall concerts from May last year. Well worth getting.

Even though I adore Dave Gilmour (and I know he is a divinity in Britain), I think his last solo record is no more than a heap of filler, to the point that I listened to it maybe twice and brought it to my local charity shop. It is one of the worst records ever made, and a logical (-> from bad to worse) evolution. A Momentary Lapse, Division Bell and now this.

Totally disagree, in my view the three you mention are some of Pink Floyds best!! But as usual there are different opinions.

The only problem with 'on an island' is it sounds as if Daves just finished having sex! And it carrys on throughout the whole album! Does anybody know if he's 'loved-up' with a new bird or something? It's just toooo laid back and slooooow.

I was lucky enough to buy an unused LP of TDSOTM last year and Mrs Mick raves about it. Also DG's recent appearance has fired her enthusiasm so it is more of a present for her. I have to admit to being a recent convert to his music.

Mick,
I did not like the album that much when i first got it but after almost a year it has grown on me and i play it more and more.

I agree. Didn't care for it much when I first heard it but Scottyhammer convinced me it was worth listening to a bit more. He was right!

I prefer this earlier vintage personally, which I have on vinyl.
