this is what occupies my free time when i'm not listening to music.
i'm not much for Harley's but if you want to talk KTMs, BMWs, Moto Guzis, Nortons, MV Agusta, I'm all ears.

Love seeing these photos and other peoples bikes.
As this thread has moved away from just off-roaders, here's my new bike (although mines all black.
Best bike i've ever had - smooth, linear power, handles so sweetly and not TOOOO uncomfortable !

Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX:
I bought this Moto Guzzi in mai 2009. I travelled on this bike to the Naim BBQ in Salisbury last august after visiting Naim dealers Signals in Ipswich and Cymbiosis in Leicester and visiting Morgan Motors in Malvern (hired there a Morgan Plus 4 for a day: lots of fun).
This new Stevio proved to be a really great bike with lots of character. Good quality too.
I do regret to tell you this bike died 4 oct. in Germany when I was overlooked by a VW Transporter bus: I crashed into this bus with a speed of 30-40 mlh (50-65 kmh).
The X-photo's of my left arm-hand show a lot of German iron now, perfectly build up in the hospital of Lüneburg. Back in Holland after 12 days, I have to be patient. Recovery wil take some months.
My brain too still works slower after concussion, getting better every week.
After driving motorcycles for 36 years now I really ask myself if I still want to run these same risks in the future or do I finally stop Guzzi driving... Next months will bring the answer.
Now I really enjoy my Naimset !

It does not have to be the rider's fault for the most horrible accidents, and the more responsive the bike the faster you may be going [even within the speed limit] at the point of impact.
Sorry to read of your accident, and the also "death" of your bike. Get well soon, yourself.

Very sorry to hear of your nasty accident.
I live in 'The Netherlands, south east of the middle' Maybe not far away. If you would like contact with another Naim guy e-mail me at the address in my profile.
Best wishes

George and Geoff,
Thanks for your reactions.
My recovery is not fast. Next week I start a few hours working again.
100% performing takes perhaps another 2 months.
My Naim system makes a lot of working hours now....
Regards,
Paul

Paul,
Sorry to hear about the crash, and the end of the bike. Most important thing is you are still around!.
I hope the surgeons used stainless steel or titanium, not iron, though.
Lontano and myself spotted the Guzzi in Salisbury, where you had tucked it in for the night under the archway.
Would the Morgan be more practical as daily transport? You could get used to using a heavy right foot to wag the tail.
Take care,
John

Dear Don and John,
Thanks for your post.
Indeed the German surgeon used titanium in three locations in my left arm and hand.
For transport for fun the Morgan proved to be a real alternative for a motorbike, but unfortunately more expensive.
Next week I'try to start working again for a few hours a day.
