82 tweak - to 52?

Anyone remember that thing we did to our 82s that involved snipping a cable tie near the balance pot?

I seem to remember it worked. A bit.

Can you do the same to a 52?

Had the same thought--yes apparently(from Naim) depending on the vinatge of your pot boards-earliest and lastest not.
