freedom of speech

Posted by: tpm45 on 27 February 2006

Looking at a post by Shayman involving freedom of speech it got me thinking that in this country and the USA freedom of speech is curtailed quite drastically. Look what happened to the BNP when they polled 1000000 voted in an election. The BBC did a hatchet job on that party to such an extent that their right to have a financial accounts, with Barclays bank, I think? was shut down in order to damage the party. Now a lot of people would be very happy with that situation, but I ask you was the establishments and I mean government ,was it right in the way they acted. After all the BNP never had recourse to use massive violence ie bombings and shootings in order to push their point of view across. Not like another party who happen to be very pally with Ken Livingstone, Nelson, and the odd USA President. namely IRA. Now lets look at another aspect of freedom of speech which has resulted in an American writer being virtually crucified. John NORMAN a writer of Scifi stories published his first novel in the late 60s and his books became an instant hit around the world. His stories centred around the planet GOR and were basically swords and sandals, soft violence very little sex,and no profanity. Yet this mans work brought thousands onto the streets in America to have his books banned, which they eventually were, especially when threats were made against book stores that contained any of his works. Normans books were banned because he put foreward another way of living, another type of lifestyle so to speak. His mistake if mistake is the right word was to suggest that females are inferior to man. That women are their for the pleasure of men,and enjoy being enslaved by men. I have to admit I dont know if his books were banned in Muslim countries, does the lifestyle ring a bell?. If you have never heard of this man type the word Gor into your browser and you will be amazed at the world wide following this mans work has. Yes you can buy the books on Ebay very cheap for the first novels that appeared. However the later books are quite rare due to the banning, but you can still get them,I think he wrote 25 novels in all. When you look at all the shit in this world which is allowed it is hair pullingly madness to kick this author stupid.

Aha the mystery is solved. Well, now I'm going to cancel my trip to Gent as although being interested to see your coffee house I am now suspicious concerning your motives. I can imagine you asking me if I want almond syrup in my cappucino to disguise the arsenic! There is a delightful coffee/cake shop in old Strockholm called 'Katten; if memory serves, it's on more than one floor and its like an old rambling house with little rooms and comfy old sofas et. a bit like your grannies house. Good cakes there too. Is your Gent coffee shop like that?

Do you make the coffee at home Tarquin?

A big sorry to everyone who found my post hard to read, good job it wasnt joined up writing otherwise you would all have been totally fu er lost.

The reason for this is that I normally access around 15-20 sites on various subjects from SciFi to Socialist Workers Party etc etc. As a result I get about 5-10 mins on each subject. I had no idea their were rules on grammar, spelling etc.

I noticed nobody chatted about the content and simply lached onto the fact that I am a BNP member or supporter. I AM NOT A MEMBER, I DO NOT SUPPORT THEM AND I DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY OK.

You all thought I did simply because I mentioned that organisation.

You were supposed to look at the injustice, the BNP received from the combined efforts of both the government and the BBC. The BNP might be racist? if you look at their website they do not openly attack black or Asian people as a race but merely point out the horrorendous amount of crime these people get involved in.

You would have to be A COMPLETE NUTTER not to realise that young blacks in society today are gun minded. Perhaps Im wrong?? perhaps those two Policewomen shot themselves, and the countless other poor buggers black and white who are shot on a regular basis.

Nobody mentioned poor old Jonh Norman the author whose career was virtually destroyed, not so much freedom of speech as freedom of the printed word.

Im sure most people could not have missed in the tabloids (newspapers) the story regarding the writer/author David IRVINE. 3 YEARS IN GOAL FOR SOMETHING HE SAID 17 YEARS AGO. OK, what he said was stupid about the Holacaust not taking place, but he did ammend that statement later and apologised. So why is he in Goal?? Does this mean that 17 years from now my right to freedom of speech will ba a crime?? and what Im saying now will send me to gaol.

Dear old Bob McCluckie do you honestly believe for one second, that Barclays Bank had a board meeting and decided to dump the BNP acxcount. Get real Bob they were told to do it. Barclays Bank and a hole pile of other banks would have funded the building of Treblinka, IF they thought they could have got away with it, and made a bit of money on the side.

AlexanderVH our boring Belgium friend, are you really such an expert on the lifestyles of ALL American presidents that you have to make a silly remark about them. Does that exclude the American president whose troops fought and died freeing your country from Nazi oppression, you ungrateful wanxxer...

So once again, let me say Im not a BNP supporter WHY// they are to left wing for my liking, and I could never vote for Griffin, he's Welsh, you know.

Well thats it lads,Im off to listen to some music on the old Naim rig,and then perhaps a bit of sex. So feel free to rewrite my Post Joe 90,or are you just a dummy, with glasses on. Me Im more Captain Scarlet.

Back soon mith more contenscious, consiciuous, contentious oh bugger, stuff to annoy you. Have a nice one I always do

America knew it was utterly inevitable that they would have to join in against Germany but they waited and watched the UK and Germany slug it out until neither had anything left, Churchill offered the americans the national silver in return for not very much - e.g. the jet engine patents in return for a few rounds of rifle ammo and then when it looked likely that the Russians would step in to occupy the power vacuum left by the demise of two great powers they joined in ready to make a fast buck. Which they did. They are still making it and we are still paying the price.

BTW Stingray was better than Captain Scarlet surely?

Excellent analysis.
But you forget, not because you don't know it i guess, that the same game was plaied with Russia which did the same thing with Poland.
The same old trick.
Germany recieved helps, in terms of fuel and spare parts, from the United States till 1942.
The same thing USA did with Russia.

Gianluigi,

well I can't cover the whole war in a couple of paragraphs WinkerPersonally I think of the US as a great big bloated whore, stuffing itself with chocolates stolen from the third world, pimping it's best friends, rolling over in it's sleep and squashing it's own in-bred brood and increasingly fearful of losing it's degenerate way of life it lashes out at anyone who is critical of it. It knows it needs to book into the fat farm but it creeps in with bags full of cream cakes while shouting to the rest that they need to diet. If anyone doubts how thick they really are just watch an episode of 'Will and Grace' - I rest my case.

Of course.
But Russia got directly involved in it.
The trick is this: when two dogs want the bone the third wait for the end of the fight, then hit the one of the two who still can stand.
The weakest.
Job done.

Of course, Erik.
The matter is very vast.
What i think is if they really are persuaded they can rule the game forever.
You can't change the culture of a country in few years without paying a price.
The lowest price, in terms of stability, is a governement choosen by them.
Direct controll doesn't pay (see Iraq) but paying for presidents elections does it.
See what's happening in Italy where the president declare that all the world should be like USA.
He couldn't be more clear.

Of course: they allowed Hitler to invade.

Right Tarquin!
Molotov and Von Ribbentrop divided europe on a map slicing Poland in two.
But the two contenders could not trust one of the other and both knew that only the control of the entire european area could give them enough power against England and USA.
The first to break the pact was Hitler.
There was no time to wait because both Russia and USA were rearming.
First aim: energy.
Russian and northen Africa oil.
Steel, carbon and labour to close the continent and wait for americans.

Well one thing is for sure and that is Berlusconi has to go - what a creep - plastic surgery, hair dye and viagra by drip feed. What is with Italy and the election of comical tin-pot egoists? If he ends up swinging upside down from a lamp post it would be some justice for all the money he has leached from your country.
