It'll only let me vote once for 'Ban home cinema and anybody remotely interested in it.' - that's not fair!

Very unlikely but a suitcase full of used notes might

.....if you send them to me, I'll consider asking Naim....

Don

Just to be bloody difficult does your definition of Home Cinema include multichannel music aka DVD-A and SACD?

I have both. I have noted the occasional thread on these brings forth a small dedicated group of correspondents interspered with cries of "nothing beats an LP12 or a CDS3"

Maybe safer to have a dedicated "multichannel" forum BUT it won't be half as much fun as raising the hackles of the stereo afficinados on here

34 votes just aren't enough

Paul S will rightfully assume that apathy = no interest in a separate forum.

However, when the Naim DVD player(s) hit the street after Xmas, the forum will become awash with talk about picture quality and images and sub-woofers and 5.1 versus 7.1 and scalers and de-interlacers and progressive scanners and......

....and then the two-channel Dodos, and dinosours, will be asking for their own "sound-only" forum.....

As the majority of Films are both American and Rubbish, why would anyone want to invest money
in Home Cinema?

Lets hear it for Living Stereo!

I'm all for it! Movies are a big part of my life, and I'd love to have a forum dedicated to home theater.

Seems like a case of re-inventing the wheel, if you ask me.

.....a quick look at the three sites reminded me of a treck-cart, a bone-shaker and a penny-farthing.......

.....I had BMW, Mercedes and Rolls-Royce in mind......

You want a German site?

I'm glad I didn't say that.....given the problems with KABOOMING 250s......

I'd also forgotten what happened to Rolls and Bentley....although I gather they are still produced (occasionally) in Chichester and Crew, by fitters in white shirts and gold ties....

Cheers

Don,

I'd agree that a multi-channel / home cinema etc. seperate Naim forum is becoming essential. It is becoming more difficult to search the existing forum for AV2 information as it's interspered with 2 channel information also.

Its essential, and I have voted accordingly!!

It would be nice, not essential.

I love the Darmstadt guy saying all movies are American and evil. Recently we purchased a DVD player, thinking watching a forties or fifties movie would be fun. However by now we have quite a bunch of opera and ballet dvd's (some of great documentary value imo), and even though the sound is not as good as from my regular sistem we are very pleased with this machine.

't Goes without saying we listen in stereo rather than looney surround.

Of course - and when you are listening to live music at a large venue, you don't get any sound coming from behind do you?

And that's why you are able to reproduce the acoustics of such a venue in your room using just two speakers. Wink
