Shipping speakers to France/costs?

Posted by: Sicey on 22 January 2007

Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to send a pair of Intro's to France? I have just sold some stuff on ebay and the guy who bought my ixo has offered to take my old speakers as well Smile,I working long days away this week and have no way of weighing the speakers or measuring the size of the boxes.
I would imagine it would cost about £80 but I am not really sure? Is it best to use Parcelforce or someone like DHL for this type of shipment.

Any useful info would be appreciated.

Cheers,

John

either are OK. I've received items from the UK both ways. DHL/UPS will be more expensive though. What ever you do make sure to get insured (saves with hassle in case things get lost).

Yes, I'd agree here too. Parcelforce seems to be the best in terms of price and they have been very relable in Europe so far when sending out secondhand kit.

TNT have been excellent too, particularly when sending bits and pieces to Geoff in the Netherlands. However, costs from TNT are much higher.

The important thing is they have both been reliable, with nothing lost so far. But, do take out additional insurance to cover for losses, just in case. - It's worth it.

Kind regards,

TNT/DHL are fast, I have had stuff arrive overnight from the UK to the Netherlands quiet often and two days is max to deliver. Get quotes though. DHL cost me a lot less than TNT for some reason last time around.

Also make sure you find out delivery time promises if using Parcel Force. They have some lower rate services which according to their rules are allowed to take up to 28 days to get from the UK to somewhere in the EU.

I shipped some bits and pieces back in early Jan and they took about 14 days to arrive.
