Which Beatles album is this song on?!
I can't seem to find it anywhere (on CD) and thought it was on the "Let it Be" album.
Thanks in advance

It was originally the B side of the single "Get Back".
It was then seen on the LP "Hey Jude" (US release only, initially) and finally on the "Past Masters Volume Two" CD.

Max:
Happily, it will be on the new Let It Be ... Naked coming out in November. It was recorded during those sessions but was left off the Spectored first release.
Great song.

Thank you for the speedy reply Fraser and Fred.
I knew it was on the Let it Be soundtrack from the movie.
Fred - I'm happy to hear that it will be included on the new rerelease. I'll be eagerly awaiting that one in November-thanks for the info.
Regards

That's weird. I know this song well, but I've only had the original albums, no compilations. How do I know it then?

It's also on the blue 1967-1970 album.

Well, if you're as old as I am you'd know it as the B side of Hey, Jude, which is how I first heard it.

Unless you're a die-hard Beatles purist, check out what the Sterophonics do with this song. It's on the soundtrack from the movie I Am Sam.
It might be the first Beatles cover I rate above the original.

Gee I lived thru all that era and loved it all but didn't remember where it was. Good going Fred and Fraser.

you're entitled to your opinion, but i must say that i disagree about as violently as it is possible to disagree.
i mean, the words "stereophonics", "beatles" and "cover version" are simply not meant to go together. nature abhors a vacuum, you see?

You may be right; perhaps I've committed some unholy juxtaposition of elements. But if so, I did it in a vacuum. Until a few days ago, I honestly hadn't heard "Don't Let Me Down" in more than thirty years; and so far in my life I've heard exactly one Stereophonics song - a Beatles cover. So for me, it's a band I've never heard of singing a song I'd completely forgotten. I haven't had the chance to grow to love the Beatles' version or to grow to hate (for whatever reason) the Stereophonics (their airplay in the States amounts to exactly diddly, far as I can tell).
Slower pace, nice ragged edge to the vocals, lotta soul - it all came together quite well, from my naive viewpoint.

that would explain it.
my ears have been abused by the stereophonics during my occasional forays into shopping centres and so i fear that my views are tainted with excess.

Stereophonics are one of those bands (like Travis) that are Ok to hear now and again, and Kelly Jones has a quite interesting voice. However having been bomdarded by their material on TV/radio for that past few years they do grate somewhat and all that comes across is the blandness of their material.
Not heard their version of this though, and I don't even know it I can place the Beatles song we are talking about

Greeny, Kid Spatula:
Thanks for the info. Had been considering getting more Stereophonics stuff, but now I think I'll pass.
