Nait 3 Phono Boards

Posted by: Twelveeyedfish on 28 May 2003

After deciding I could do better than my Project Phono box I went ahead and bought the MM phono boards for my amp. Second hand.

I installed them. I powered up. I cried.

The amp has never had boards in before and I can't really trundle along to the store with them being second hand.

I have my tail tucked between my legs right now and you're all (mostly) nice people. I love you all. Can anyone tell me what stupid thing i haven't done?

Thank you all Smile

It's ok guys. Worked it out...

I knew there was a reason I failed my first degree... something to do with being good at electronics...

Thanks for the help you would have given me

Andrew,
First you have to tell everyone what system you are running.

I just got a NAIT3 last week, and saw the boards installed in a dealer's.

I take it you clipped the links - I'm not sure where these are, but the dealer snipped two traces, and then clipped the boards into place over the pins, and it worked?

The Naim boards should SLAUGHTER the Project - when I tried that out on a NAIT5 with vinyl, it sounded slow, lethargic and dull. The Naim boards in the NAIT are far superior to the stage on my Rega Mira 2000, and that one's not that bad Smile
