Jackson Browne - Live

I went to see Jackson Browne at the City Hall in Sheffield on Wednesday and, overall, would recommend that you get to see him if you can. He played with David Lindley who as well as being completely mad is an amazing musician who seems to be able to play anythng with strings. My major caveat with the evening was that Jackson never really engaged with the audience, I think the venue didn't help, as unless it is jammed, the City Hall can be a bit stiff in terms of atmosphere. I think he perhaps should have played some more well known numbers earlier in the evening (Doctor, My Eyes, perhaps, which he did not play at all) and for some reason he dropped For a Dancer and Fountain of Sorrow from the set? I think accoustic shows are always really interesting but if the venue is not intimate they can become a bit staid. His voice is still amazing and, as my wife pointed out, he has incredibley shiny hair! I hope I look that good at 57!
