been listening to this album today. this is the first time i have heard the applause at then end of each track "off" the "stage" where clive and christine were presumably performing. i like the effect, though i was initially startled by it.

anyone who knows this record well care to comment? is my DV XX2/ARO lying to me?

what a great pity this pair are no longer making music together frown frown

enjoy

Ken-

Reading your post encouraged me to take a listen to this LP from G & C. It is a very simply recorded live album with nice immediacy. On my turntable, LP 12, Aro, Armegeddon, Troika the audience does float a bit ahead of the plane of the two musicians. Mostly though, what I loved was the great vocal harmonies, and Clive's offbeat guitarwork. Not quite the equal of Antonio's version of "Grapevine", but a nice cover nonetheless. My favorite of their albums is the studio album "Mischief", which came out in different versions in the US and the UK. Another similar feeling artist you might also enjoy is the American singer Marti Jones, who recorded a number of wonderful folk/pop albums in the 80's and early 90's. Of them, I would start with "Used Guitars".

Cheers
